In the past, Pierre has been a police officer with the Edmonton Police Service and the Cayman Islands Police Service. He is a certified Control Tactics Instructor for law enforcement and has been involved in other arts including Arnis, Boxing, Aikido, Karate, Kung Fu, and Tae Kwon Do.
He has competed in several local and international American Ju-Jitsu Association (A.J.A.) format tournaments - and in all that were entered, he finished within the top three. In 1984, he won second place in a Canada / USA points race for the year and in 1985, he was honored as the A.J.A.s' Outstanding Student of the Year.
On a past Black Belt exam, O'Sensei George Kirby (10th Degree Black Belt - Budoshin Ju-Jitsu) had the following remarks,
"It was a real pleasure to guide Pierre through the process. I’ve known Pierre for many years, first as a mudansha (colored belt) and now as a well - respected Yudansha (Black Belt).... not only demonstrated a high level of technical expertise, but was also done in a very professional manner."
He has been qualified and has testified as an expert in the Martial Arts, by the Canadian Court of Queen's Bench. Renshi Pierre Lautischer was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame as "Master of the Year" (2002).
Corey Lautischer
Corey began learning Ju-Jutsu at the very early age of 6. He has experience in boxing as he trained at the Southside Legion Boxing Club under one of Edmonton's most notable Boxers and Trainers - Rick Jamerson (who recently played a part in the movie "Resurrecting the Champ (2007)" with Samuel L. Jackson). While there Corey obtained ring experience as he had a number of matches.
After a long break in training, Corey regained his interest in fighting arts and began self training and researching. He began training in Ju-Jutsu again under the auspices of Sensei Trevor Tessier who himself has had numerous tournament wins and who is considered by Pierre Lautischer himself as one of the best instructors Ketto Ryu has to offer.
Needless to say, Corey became very interested in competing and began training up to 6 days a week in MMA, grappling and fitness. In June 2007, Corey entered his first grappling tournament, the Prestigious Arashi Do "Mind, Body and Soul". He won first place, in his weight division, in grappling with no uniform and second place in grappling with a uniform. Since then he has continued his winning ways and entered numerous local and national tournaments. For two years in a row (2007 and 2008), he won the prestigious Arashi Do “The Series” championship for his weight class. He received his 1st Degree Black Belt under Trevor Tessier in 2008.
In 2009, Corey entered his first professional MMA fight at Saskatoon’s XCW (Extreme Cage Wars) #29. As luck would have it, Corey was a last minute replacement to fight for the #1 contender spot in the Bantamweight Division. At 58 seconds in the second round, Corey applied a rear naked choke, which caused his opponent to tap out. As a result, Corey will have the opportunity to fight for the Championship Title in August of 2009.
Corey is the instructor of regular, children and grappling classes at the Hombu Dojo and is devoted to training and teaching full-time.
