In the UFC and Pride Contests, most of the MMA competitors have a solid background in Ju-Jutsu.
Ketto Ryu Ju-Jutsu has a number of different educational formats. Teaching in a formal setting, one can attend class where an instructor is present at an average cost of $70 a month. Semi-Private classes allow students one on one time with an instructor and can greatly enhance the speed of training. Another format is the Home Study Program where techniques are learned through video, correspondence, and notes.
Since 1985, Ketto Ryu Ju-Jutsu has been providing self defense instruction. The art has been featured in numerous publications, including School of the Month - Black Belt Magazine (September 1995). Renshi Pierre Lautischer (6th Dan) is the head instructor / founder and was inducted into the United States Hall of Fame - Master of the Year (2002). The main school (Hombu Dojo) is in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
